Macy*s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Today is Thanksgiving, a day when we give thanks to the people that surround us on a daily basis, for the opportunities we are given in this country in regards to practicing religion, and for the food that we have to eat.

Rather than staying home, sleeping in, and preparing for Thanksgiving dinner, I woke up at 2:40AM, got dressed, was about to drive to the train station in New Haven before my father offered to due to the fog, and went picked up the 4:12AM train. The destination was Grand Central Station. The purpose was the Macy*s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

After many text messages, I finally met up with Brianna (Bri) and her friend Becca near Central Park. The time was 6:40AM and the temperature was rising. The three of us walked along the streets and finally settled on a spot at 64th Street. Standing for three hours was fun. We chatted with the people around us and Bri "bragged" (or gave "an anecdote") about meeting Nick Jonas (haha). Becca kept herself entertained by taking pictures with her camera. Oh - and Bri was also in love with my Canon Powershot SD600.

The parade reached us sometime after 9:15AM.

There were balloons, balloon holders, confetti, clowns, police, and etc.
We saw actors, actresses, and singers including

The stars of Spring Awakening (above)

The cast of Hairspray: The Musical movie (above)

I suppose that now is the proper time to tell you the true reason why I woke up so early to go to NYC. It was to see three talented and good-looking young men, the Jonas Brothers.

The boys looked great. They seemed to enjoy riding the float, waving to the fans, and saying 'Happy Thanksgiving.' I am thankful that they (and all the others) acknowledged us - it may have helped that Becca screamed at the top of her lungs most of the time!

As a conclusion to my experience at the parade, here is Joe Jonas waving .... goodbye to you.
